With further changes to restrictions being introduced early July and feedback from members at the circuit we plan to kick off the BDOC 11-12 July.

The club intend to run a 4 round Boyndie Drome Open Challenge for the remainder of the 2020 season. Round 1 to take place on the weekend of July 11-12 with a split grid format to reduce numbers on site. Saturday will be for Bambinos, Cadets, Mini Max and Jnr Max with Sunday for all senior classes and junior prokarts. We don’t intend to run a hire kart championship in 2020.

The format for the day will be as follows:

  • 9am-12pm – Open practice sessions of 8mins
  • 12.40pm – Start of heats & finals

To help keep the day moving smoothly, all races will be time + 1 lap. The first heat will be a timed qualifying session where fastest time wins, the further two heats will be grid order by date/time entry submitted. For example first entry received for class will be last for heat 2 and pole for heat 3.

Signing on will be done digitally as part of the entry process, on the day you will simply pay your fees and collect your paper work.

We anticipate social distancing measures will still be as they are so there will be a number of other measures in place. For the full details please download our preparation document. Anyone attending will be expected to follow these rules – please read it before submitting an entry.

The committee will continue to monitor the situation and update any restrictions where necessary. The split grid arrangement may not be in place for the whole of 2020. All of the above is subject to change should Government guidance change.

The 2020 calendar is as follows:

  • Round 1: July 11-12
  • Round 2: August 8-9
  • Round 3: September 12-13
  • Round 4: October 10-11

A further announcement will be made early in the week when entries open.

We hope you’re looking forward to getting back to racing and thank you for your cooperation of the social distancing guidance already in place at the circuit.
