The GP Plate Awards

The sun blazed down on the Boyndie Circuit as drivers battled through a scorching and dry weekend for one of the most prestigious events on the calendar – the GP Plate.

Bambino (6-7 years old)

James Strath lowered the class lap record in Heat 1 and never looked back. A dominant win despite early disappointment for George Douglas, who suffered a coil failure. The podium was rounded out by Austin Noble and Alfie Falconer.

Honda Cadets (8-12 years old)

Aarryn Rigg led from start to finish with a commanding eight-second win. An intense battle behind saw Ruarie McKay hold off Bruno Simonelli for second, with the chasing group crossing the line just 0.5 seconds apart.

Inter Max

Hamish Gordon snatched the lead from Lewis Stewart on lap 2 and resisted a last-corner challenge to take the win by just a tenth of a second. James Sims climbed to third after a strong drive through the field.

Junior Max

Leo Massie and Finlay Smith pulled away early in a tight scrap for the lead. Massie kept calm under pressure to secure the win. Sophie Ingram drove a smart race to take third ahead of a competitive pack.

Senior Max (162kg)

Jonathan Edwards led from the lights after Gary Robertson’s retirement on the rolling lap. A close fight for second saw Jemma Hiorns overtake Owen Towler mid-race, securing her place on the podium.

Historic Gearbox

Neil McWilliam took a comfortable victory, claiming the Historic GP Plate. Scott Benton and Ross McWilliam completed the podium, with Ross recovering from an early incident.

KZ2 Gearbox

Alex Hawcutt led from pole and held off Ryan Simpson despite late pressure, claiming both the GP Plate and the Andy Borton Quaich. Chris Walker stormed through to third, with Ross Greig and Keiran Smart in hot pursuit.
