Overcast but dry and mild conditions set the scene at Boyndie Circuit for the fifth and final round of the Boyndie Drome Open Challenge (BODC) Championship.

The feature trophy was the GKC Team Trophy, which saw all drivers drawn into mixed teams of four – the highest-scoring team claiming the honours.

The Bambinos paired off early, with the leading duo of Austin Noble and Walter Forrest swapping positions multiple times before Noble edged out the win by just 0.2 seconds. Behind them, Fraser Brock held off Freddie Falconer to take third by seven tenths at the line – a close and entertaining finish for the youngest drivers.

Lucca Biocchi leads the Cadet pack

Lights out, and it was Luca Bicocchi who led the Cadet pack into the opening lap from Oscar Forbes, Bruno Simonelli, Alfie Lamb, Archie Bruce and Richard Henderson. Bicocchi quickly opened a commanding gap, cruising to victory by 11 seconds. Behind him, Forbes and Simonelli battled closely before Henderson and Lamb joined to form a four-kart scrap. Henderson moved into fourth on lap seven, then climbed to third two laps later behind Simonelli, with Forbes and Lamb completing the top five. Novice Aron Hawcutt finished sixth, ahead of Bruce, Oliver Bird, and Arran Stephen. The lone Micro Max, James Brock, finished tenth overall. The race ended under red flag conditions following an incident, but thankfully the driver was unhurt.

Alex Hawcutt leads the pack

Pole-sitter Gordon Hawton led the opening lap from Alex Hawcutt, Chris Walker, and Ryan Simpson, but an early incident saw Hawton drop to fifth. Hawcutt inherited the lead, pursued by Walker, Simpson, and Duncan Ingram. Simpson climbed to second on lap ten, with Ingram following into third a lap later. Hawcutt held firm to the flag to claim victory, ahead of Simpson and Ingram. Walker came home fourth, followed by Smart, Hawton, Ross Greig, Neil Anderson, and Tim Foubister.
