Boyndie basked in glorious sunshine once again for the third round of the Scottish Super Series (A Plate), with the final round set for 21 September at Larkhall, Glasgow.

Bambino (6-7 years old)

From pole, James Strath led early ahead of George Douglas and Harris Macdonald. Macdonald slipped into second at Gate Corner on lap two, while Douglas’ challenge ended with mechanical failure on lap four. Strath took a commanding win, Macdonald second.

Honda Cadets (8-12 years old)

From the rolling start Aarryn Rigg took the lead from Luca Bicocchi, Tommy Burgoyne, Richard Henderson and Archie Bruce.  Rigg and Bicocchi circulated closely with Rigg opening a small gap in the sixteen lap final.

Also a close contest was taking part between Burgoyne and Henderson.  Henderson closed in when coming from the top of the circuit and Burgoyne did the opposite.  A final attempt at Gate Corner on the final tour lost Henderson ground.  Burgoyne took the final podium place with Henderson.  Bruce came home fifth.

Micro Max (8-12 years old)

Louis Pyper avoided first-lap chaos and built an unchallenged lead. Louis Macdonald briefly lost second to Jack Elder after running wide, but reclaimed it with a Gate Corner pass on lap nine. Elder finished just 0.5s behind in third.

Novice Award: Anson Gao

Inter Max

Ian Campbell led the opening lap before Hamish Gordon – who had already broken his own lap record in the heats – took over at Gate Corner. Gordon controlled the pace to win by 1.5s, while Lewis Stewart just edged Sam Fleming in a tense fight for third.

Junior Max

The day’s most intense race saw John J Buchan, Leo Massie, and Finlay Smith trading places throughout. Massie briefly led, but Buchan reclaimed the top spot down Boyndie Straight and held off relentless pressure to win. Smith completed the podium, with David Hiorns close in fourth.

Novice Award: Ollie Miller

Senior Max (162kg)

Max Taylor converted pole into a lights-to-flag win, breaking the lap record (36.022s) in the process. Jonathan Edwards and Jemma Hiorns completed a stable top three, with Steven Napier charging to fourth ahead of David Mitchell.

Feature trophy winners

Two prestigious trophies were also decided: the Mike Philip Memorial Trophy (voted by race officials) went to Leo Massie (Huntly), and the JRD Cup for highest-scoring senior driver was awarded to Max Taylor (New Leeds).
