To kick-off the 2022 season GKC will host a one-off GP plate meeting on 20 February 2022.

With the delays to the previous two seasons due to the COVID-19 restrictions GKC have decided to kick start the season with a fun days racing to dust off the cobwebs and prepare for the 2022 season.

This event will be non-licenced and open to all owner driver kart classes. The winner of each class will be entitled to wear the GP plate at Boyndie Drome Open Chllange meetings for the 2022 season.

Saturday Practice

A managed Saturday practice will be available. This will run from 9:30am to 4pm with no lunch break. Signing on will also be open Saturday from 2pm to 4pm for those who want to avoid the Sunday rush.

Cost for Saturday practice is £20 for non-members and £10 for GKC members.

Race Format

Signing on will run from 8am to 8.45am with drivers briefing at 9am.

3 lap practice for all classes.

6 minute qualifying session – grid positions for pre-final decided from qualifying times.

8 minute pre-final – grid position for final decided by finish position of pre-final. All classes will do a rolling start other than Bambinos who will form on the grid for a standing start.

10 minute final – winner takes the honours of GKC’s GP plate.

Entry will be £50 +(£10 transponder hire if you don’t have one)

Rules

The event will be run as per BDOC Regulations with the following amends:

  • One set of slicks to be used (this doesn’t count towards your BDOC allocation)
  • This event doesn’t score points or count in anyway to the BDOC championship
